Woman who died after being set on fire by boyfriend to 'testify' post-mortem

Judy Malinowski, an Ohio woman who was burned over 80 percent of her body and subsequently died after her boyfriend doused her in gasoline and lit her on fire will be allowed to make a post-mortem court appearance.

The unusual arrangement, which was approved by an Ohio judge overseeing the trial of her ex, Michael Slager, will feature videotaped deposition testimony recorded at Malinowski's bedside.

Slager has already been convicted of aggravated arson and felony assault, but when it became clear that Malinowski would not survive her injuries, prosecutors began work on a murder case against him, and recorded over two hours of video deposition.

The trial, in which the prosecution is seeking the death penalty, is slated to begin in July.
