Trump names CIA Director Mike Pompeo new Secretary of State

President Trump has relieved Rex Tillerson of his duties as Secretary of State and replaced him with CIA Director Mike Pompeo, the White House announced on Tuesday.

Trump thanked Tillerson for his service and said Pompeo would do a "fantastic job" on Twitter.

Gina Haspel, the deputy director of the CIA, will replace Pompeo as CIA Director, making her the first woman to ever lead the CIA.

President Trump believes Tillerson is "too establishment" in his approach & decided to make this change as his administration prepares for delicate talks with North Korea, according to White House officials.
