Snapchat releases exclusive true crime drama series

In a bid to appeal to its youthful base, Snapchat has announced the release of an original true crime drama series. "True Crime/Uncovered" was produced exclusively for the platform by Conde Nast, and will total six episodes covering horrific crimes that took place under mysterious circumstances and the psychology behind them.

The bite-sized five-minute episodes are custom built to appeal to a younger audience, starring actress Samantha Miller and employing a blend of police evidence, video footage and interviews.

Snapchat is no doubt eager to change the conversation among its adherents following the disastrous and poorly-revieved rollout of its new design update, which was slammed by celebrities and millions of users and even spawned an online petition to change it back.

The first episode of "True Crime/Uncovered" aired Monday, March 12, and the next two episodes are scheduled to go out this week.
